Why Take PostureBreaks? During long bouts of sitting, the right exercises can improve health and productivity.

According to the National Institutes of Health, unhealthy posture increases the likelihood of neck and back pain; negatively impacts balance and makes people more vulnerable to injury; and can bring about digestive problems and even depression.

Healthy posture, on the other hand, can reduce stress, help prevent and alleviate pain, and maximize creativity and performance…

And that’s where PostureBreak comes in.

PostureBreak Can Bring About Real Change.

Results vary, but studies have shown that activities in the PostureBreak program may:

-Alleviate pain
-Increase flexibility, strength, and balance
-Improve digestion
-Increase blood flow to the brain
-Generate a sense of calm
-Reduce the risk of disease and injury
-Improve mood and focus

In addition, workplace wellness programs may enhance job performance and decrease company turnover rates.

Workplace Wellness Programs Show:

-Short, moderate activity improves cognitive function
-Short breaks can reduce burnout in office workers
-Cardio-metabolic health improves when sitting-reduction strategies are used
-Neck and back pain in office workers can be reduced through regular exercise
-Workplace wellness programs may lead to greater energy, effort, and lower turnover

The PostureBreak Story:

As a personal trainer in Boston, PostureBreak Founder & CEO Zach Shlien has always been dedicated to his clients’ success, whether that success was measured by overall health, strength, flexibility, body weight, or any other goal.

For clients whose lifestyle included long bouts of sitting, however, real change proved to be a real challenge. He could exercise, motivate and counsel each of them for an hour at a time, with positive effects, only to see them return to their desks for 40, 50 or 60 hours a week—plus commute times.

In response, Zach assigned his client’s specific exercises for spinal strength and whole-body flexibility, to be performed during frequent micro-breaks throughout the day. It was a simple gesture, yet the effect was profound. His clients grew stronger and healthier, slept better at night, and had more energy during the day, all of which inspired better dietary and lifestyle choices.

The results were so impressive that Zach decided to share his ideas with others, and that’s when he created PostureBreak, LLC, and began offering workshops for local businesses.

Today, on-site PostureBreak Presents Workshops are available to businesses and communities throughout New England, while video tutorials are accessible online and via the new PostureBreak App.
